During a seizure, brain cells can excite or inhibit other brain cells from sending messages resulting in imbalance between exciting and stopping activity.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Different types of seizures” tab_id=”1529928515715-0a74209e-997a”][vc_column_text]

Type of seizure depends on part of brain affected. Partial seizures occur when one side of brain is affected. Partial seizures can be simple or complex depending on which area of the brain involved. If the area of the brain that controls vision and muscles is affected (simple), and if temporal lobe is affected (complex). Patient may lose consciousness during complex attack. Other types of seizures affect both sides of brain and patient loses consciousness followed by a postictal state after the seizure.

Infants experience seizures known as febrile seizures which can happen during rise in body temperature.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Common causes of seizures” tab_id=”1447164769204-1718867b-7134″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Symptoms and signs of an ongoing seizure include” tab_id=”1447164770280-9b737dde-f428″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When to see a doctor?” tab_id=”1447164769737-a91a091c-c08e”][vc_column_text]

If you experience any symptoms that might get you seizures or convulsions, visit your doctor.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″]

[vc_single_image image=”2704″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_btn title=”BOOK AN APPOINTMENT” color=”primary” align=”center” link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fportal.neeharneuro.com%2Fweb%2Fbook_appointment|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row full_width=”0″ full_height=”0″ particles=”0″][vc_column width=”2/3″ margin=”margin_bottom_grid”][vc_text_separator title=”What are seizures?” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]Seizures are abnormal activity of brain and body due to complex chemical changes in brain cells which can affect your behavior or the way you see things around you for a short time.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”white” spacing=”10″ c_icon=”chevron” active_section=”0″ collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”What causes seizures?” tab_id=”1447164768106-10a7f0c6-9da8″][vc_column_text]A seizure happens […]
